The successful candidate will deliver and manage the day-to-day IT operations of the company, be involved in IT strategy, maintain high standards of IT service delivery, and support the safeguarding of IT infrastructure. Minimising downtime and operational disruption are essential to the successful running of the business. Being part of a process focused, improvement driven business means collaboration with all business areas on service improvements is key. Role is office-based at our Headquarters in Staverton, Cheltenham. This is not a remote or hybrid role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Execute and oversee the IT strategy in alignment with the company goals, ensuring effective and timely delivery of IT projects in a Microsoft environment. Manage and mentor the team of IT professionals – supporting the overall IT strategy. Manage the business’ Information Services. Developing a strategy and roadmap for improvements and new systems that will provide the business with a competitive advantage. Oversee and ensure the service desk operates efficiently, providing outstanding support to all staff members across multiple offices in the UK. Oversee the delivery of IT services within a Microsoft & ITIL environment, ensuring they meet business needs and comply with established SLAs. Support IT infrastructure, including IT security initiatives to ensure robust and reliable systems across the business. Control IT expenditure within the IT budget. Manage 3rd party relationships with consultants and service providers. Collaborate with senior management, including people at the Director level and other stakeholders to understand and address urgent IT needs, to develop a robust IT strategy moving forward. PERSON SPECIFICATION Strong technical understanding of: Microsoft hardware (Windows Server) Microsoft 365 and Azure MS Exchange Cyber Security and Cyber Essentials, or equivalent accreditation IT Best Practices, Policy and Processes Experience: Experience in a similar senior IT role i.e. Head of IT / IT Manager Ability to manage cross-functional IT teams and develop those teams Excellent understanding of IT service management, IT infrastructure, and IT operations management. Experience within the construction sector or product assembly environment would be beneficial Achieving and maintaining Cyber Essentials, or equivalent, accreditations ERP management and programming Have the ability to implement new IT strategies and lead large-scale IT projects. Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding practical and sustainable solutions. Exceptional administrative skills, with a meticulous approach to documentation and process management. Able to work on own initiative and as well as part of a wider team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining positive working relationships across the organisation. Able to work and collaborate with non-IT colleagues. A positive ‘can do’ attitude. Management of time and priorities towards operational effectiveness.
