The Metropolitan Police Service are undertaking some positive changes and have tasked Reed with exclusively recruiting a Head of Leadership Programmes on a permanent basis. The role will be London based across multiple sites so you would be expected to operate flexibly as per their requirements. Hybrid working will be available as well. This will be a challenging yet rewarding leadership role within the Met – one of the most iconic institutions in the UK and a world leading police service. They have a mandate for change to ensure that they deliver the best possible policing for London, driving forward the Commissioner’s mission of more trust, less crime and high standards. The role of Head of Leadership Programmes will be instrumental in this ambitious transformation. Job purpose Provide strategic advice on the ways that learning & development can be best designed, delivered and evaluated across the organisation. Oversee the relevant approval processes through ongoing collaboration with the relevant chief officer or equivalent lead for the subject area in question. The role Ensuring the development, delivery and oversight of leadership programme design is discharged effectively through governance structures and processes, including through strategic briefing, together with translating Met requirements into deliverable learning outcomes will be key elements of the role, along with overseeing the development of comprehensive training materials and products to help enhance the Met’s leadership programmes. Leading a team of police officers & police staff within the leadership Excellence team on a day to day basis, developing engaging and effective learning content and materials for police officers and staff using wide-ranging and modern methods. Oversee the planning and evaluation of multiple learning projects simultaneously, ensuring content is delivered on time and within budget. Owning and leading on the implementation of Met leadership programmes, working in close collaboration with the MPS Executive, Heads of Profession and relevant internal and community stakeholder groups. Essential knowledge, Skills and experience Expert knowledge/understanding of leadership models and practical application for personal growth with demonstrable expertise in learning design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning technologies. Knowledge of learning and organisational development and experience of delivering products within a business environment. A proven track record of managing high profile programmes of work High levels of strategic awareness, driven, forward thinking and able to communicate with high levels of confidence Energy and enthusiasm for changes and new ways of working with the ability to challenge the status quo Remuneration Package Salary ranging from £74,002 - £85,474 per annum + £2,841 additional allowances In addition you will also receive a substantial benefits including 28 days annual leave (+BH), an excellent civil service pension (27.9% employers contribution), flexible working conditions with some home working available.
