Hays Legal is exclusively retained by this multi-sector organisation seeking to appoint a Head of Legal. This appointment to the Group’s senior management team would suit an experienced lawyer (10 years+) with an in-house or private practice background, to be the legal expert and trusted advisor to this organisation. Interest is sought from those with commercial litigation/regulatory or employment backgrounds, as well as the more typical commercial or corporate background. You will be the first point of contact for all legal matters, finding commercial solutions and having a results-oriented approach. You will also manage the legal team. Day to day responsibilities include: Providing strategic legal advice and counsel to the Group on a broad range of legal matters including regulatory and litigation, employment, commercial contracts, data privacy, intellectual property, and real estate. Leading and managing the legal team including setting priorities, delegating tasks, and ensuring professional development. Managing external legal relationships with law firms and other advisors, ensuring cost-effective and efficient legal representation. Proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks for the Group. Staying up to date on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the organisation remains compliant. Developing and implementing legal policies and procedures for the Group. Contributing to the development and execution of overall business strategy from a legal perspective. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer seeking a first Head of Legal role or an existing Head of Legal seeking a new challenge. You will have significant general legal experience, having advised on a range of matters. You will be able to evidence a strong track record of your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships both internally and externally. This is a fabulous opportunity for a seasoned commercial lawyer seeking a wide-ranging and stimulating role within a fast-moving and collegiate environment. Hybrid working.
