We're recruiting for a Head of Logistics to join the team! This role can be based from anywhere in the UK. The Head of Logistics and Fleet Management is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of the organisation's logistics and fleet operations. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and the optimal performance of the fleet, supporting the company's operational and customer service objectives. You'll lead a team of professionals to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting into the Director of Smart Metering. What you'll be doing:

Reporting:

Prepare and present detailed reports on logistics and fleet performance to senior leadership. Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement logistics and fleet management strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics and fleet management team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Operational Oversight:

Ensure the efficient operation of logistics and fleet activities, including route planning, scheduling, and dispatching. Fleet Management:

Coordinate with MGS Fleet & Transport to oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with MGS & other third-party logistics providers, maintenance suppliers, and other key partners. Cost Control:

Monitor and control logistics and fleet expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Performance Monitoring:

Track and analyse key performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to achieve targets. Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics and fleet operations, ensuring business continuity. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety and environmental requirements. Technology Integration:

Leverage technology and systems to enhance logistics and fleet operations, improving visibility, control, and efficiency. What we need from you:

A minimum of 5 years senior management experience, ideally in the Utilities/Metering Sector. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large logistics and fleet operations teams. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders. Strong understanding of financial management related to logistics and fleet operations, including budgeting and cost control. Ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions to drive operational improvements. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve operational challenges effectively. Advanced proficiency in logistics and fleet management software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of customer needs and a commitment to delivering high levels of service. Effective team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a collaborative team environment. Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment, coordinating activities across multiple teams and functions. Desirable:
