The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering Function within Operations at Thompson Aero Seating. This will include driving short-term initiatives to deliver against immediate business needs, as well as securing full enablement for pre-production readiness. In addition to fulfilling the short-term requirements the individual will be responsible for establishing the long-term ME organisation/processes to secure NPI/ Industrialisation at FAI via implementation of robust Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing and Design to Quality systems and processes. Responsibilities Responsibility for the overall ME functional performance to budget and performance KPIs Leadership and development of ME team to become high performing function Ownership of all ME processes across all Thompson Aero Seating (TAS) business units Responsibility for Manufacturing Bill of Materials and all Manufacturing Standard Work Responsibility for all industrialisation activities across the TAS business units Monitor and reduce manufacturing material costs and create KPIs to drive efficiencies Help the product introduction teams to identify risks and develop mitigation plans for current product introduction programs to avoid failures in qualification and service and to ensure that the equipment is rate capable and achieving the target cost. Responsible for the design of the manufacturing process flow Ownership of the CCB process Support new product introduction Managing CAPEX; machinery and equipment resourcing Responsible for ensuring that all processes are in line with QMS Working with Management Team to set and monitor standards and KPIs for staff Staff personal development and support as required Reward Competitive salary 33 days annual leave 37.5 hours per week Health cash plan Contributory salary sacrifice pension scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Life Assurance Scheme at x4 gross salary Competitive enhanced Maternity and Paternity pay IVF & Assisted Conception Policy Dedicated employee parking Employee Recognition scheme Long Service Awards Wellbeing Initiatives Discounted Gym membership Local charity/sponsorship activities Learning and development opportunities Career progression Requirements Essential Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role, within Manufacturing Engineering Experience of lean, CI techniques and process improvement projects Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering/manufacturing discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification Proven lean skills – to drive continuous improvements, ergonomics, HS&E, and process capability Excellent analysis and evaluation skills with a drive to challenge the status quo Experienced leader with track record in hiring, training and leading direct and a large number of indirect reports, and production staff. Ability to communicate at all levels Programme & change management ability Able to operate successfully at senior management level.
