The Head of Manufacturing Support is responsible for leadership, governance, and management of the Manufacturing Support department, including operational delivery, regulatory and customer compliance, quality, health and safety, budgetary responsibility, customer and supplier management, and team performance and development. Ensure the manufacturing department (Production Organisation) meets customer and regulatory requirements, including: AS9100 UK CAA 21G Boeing D1-4426 and LM QCS-001 Special Process Approvals (& others as required) Maintain the Production Organisation capable of delivering its services in accordance with regulatory authority requirements. Nominated and approved UK CAA 21G Form 4 holder. Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and organisation requirements relating to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) matters and the implementation and ownership of all associated QHSE policies and processes throughout manufacturing. Ensure all activities within the Production Organisation are carried out in accordance with HSE legislation. Provide strong organisational leadership of the Production Organisation under the authority of this role and support the Business Lines in the delivery of customer requirements. Manage and remain responsible for departmental budget and KPI performance. Drive innovation in production processes, adopting new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality. Oversee continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process optimization methodologies. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure transition of products into the production/manufacturing process. Liaise with senior management, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Ensure effective communication between manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and other departments. Represent the manufacturing department in BL and programme reviews. Ensure that areas under this role's responsibility deliver programmes in accordance with budgeted costs, timescales, and acceptable level of quality. Recruit, train, and mentor production staff (including apprentices), ensuring a high level of skill and competence. Develop succession plans and professional development programs for key production roles. Escalation focal point and governance of facility work priority (daily). Communication to all tiers of manufacturing staff and external stakeholders in relation to manufacturing, including customer and supplier liaison. Govern manufacturing program performance, (including external suppliers and shared functions) via weekly reviews, or as driven by metric/tracker monitors. Recruitment, disciplinary, and performance monitoring of facility staff. Conduct regular performance reviews and manage staff performance in line with Marshall processes and cascade of company objectives. Monitor and maintain resource skill and approval structure of function, and individual grant or periodic renewal approval. Chair periodic Manufacturing Safety (MSAG), Environmental, and weekly non-conformance/Event/OFI reviews. Manufacturing NC/Event/OFI owner coordinating and approving closure, including chairing relative 8D RCA (root cause analysis). Manufacturing process owner defining and approving relevant VSV documentation. Populate/define and manage department risk register, and oversight and approval for departmental risk assessments. Define, consolidate, manage, and present Manufacturing monthly AIM performance metrics. Approval as final signatory on high value manufacturing estimates/bids. Coordination and approval of equipment Preventative Maintenance SLA/contract, modification and remedial works maintaining capability and regulatory (safety) requirements. Attendance of periodic 21G Post Holders review. DOA-POA approval and relative DDN (Data Delivery Note or equivalent) recipient for external design authorities. Maintain and advance department structure and role definition. Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills; able to wield influence over other senior leaders across Marshall and partner organisations. Communicate effectively - Relate easily to a wide range of audiences, simplify the complex to engage others with a compelling message. Prioritise and solve problems - Make timely and sound decisions in uncertain and ambiguous contexts; take a pragmatic approach to tackling issues within and across functions. Highly analytical and detail oriented. Highly collaborative mindset, placing emphasis on inclusion, humility, and transparency. Technical Competencies:

Proven expertise in related production and manufacturing processes, equipment and resource capabilities, quality control, and supply chain management. Proven technical foundation to influence related product/system design and project direction, including scope, guidance and governance, and approval of any associated activity e.g., bid scope and estimate signoff. Strong understanding of defence industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements. Good understanding of internal business systems; IFS, PLM, Q-Pulse, Sevron, etc. Financial acumen and budget management. Ability to utilise 'Lean' methodology and practical application of techniques to drive continuous improvement. Experience of managing within a unionised workforce. Significant people management experience with experience of leading a multi-disciplined workforce. Experience of managing internal relationships at the most senior level. Experience of leading agile delivery within a complex organisation with multiple competing demands. Proven financial management skills and strong commercial acumen. Health & safety: Significant track record in successfully implementing and sustaining best in class health and safety policies and procedures in a production environment. Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar certifications are advantageous. Qualifications:

Academic degree or equivalent, in a technical discipline, ideally Manufacturing or Engineering, from a university or other higher educational institution. IOSH Certification. EASA/UK CAA Part 21 Subpart G certification. Extensive experience in manufacturing, within a leadership role within the defence or a related industry. Deep knowledge of area of specialism combined with broad knowledge of the industry and the relevant external environment (legislative, regulatory, best practice standards, etc.).
