Head of Marketing Engagement, Charity, up to c£32 – £33k + benefits Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Marketing Engagement with strong background across the marketing spectrum, join this national charity. The role can be based out of London or East Anglia offices, though there is a significant opportunity for home working so candidates will need to only be accessible to one of these offices as required. Working within a hugely supportive Marketing and Fundraising team, some 20 strong at their offices, you will report to the Director and will lead on maximizing the charity’s ability to identify and engage supporters to achieve a range of objectives, but with particular emphasis on income generation. In addition, you will provide technical and creative assets to the Marketing and Fundraising Directorate and to the wider charity team to support the execution of a variety of marketing projects. Key responsibilities include achieving key performance targets, as agreed with Director in relation to the acquisition of supporters, visitors to the website and specifically flow to fundraising pages, E-marketing impact (open rates, click throughs etc) and social media impact (followers, engagements etc.). You will drive the charity’s Marketing Strategy, which includes the brand strategy and the evolution of their messaging. You will lead the development and oversee the ongoing management of the charity’s website, ensuring it delivers against the need of all stakeholders, both internal and external, whilst overseeing the development and ongoing management of their marketing database, (Engaging Networks) and co-ordinate its integration with the Customer Relationship Management database – CRM (Raiser’s Edge) in collaboration with the Head of Supporter Development. Additionally, together with the Head of Communications, you will develop their Marketing assets (e.g. photography, case studies, etc.) and provide high-quality line-management and support to direct reports. Evaluation and reporting goes hand-in-hand with the role, as does the monitoring of expenditure, production of monthly analysis, preparation of budgets and reforecasts. You will be able to develop a network of key contacts in the sector and beyond to draw on best practice. With support from the Head of Supporter Development, you will also ensure that their activity is compliant regarding data protection legislation. Ensuring that supporter consent is recorded in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements and that practice is in line with the expectations of the Fundraising Regulator. As part of the Senior Marketing & Fundraising Team (Director plus Heads of), you will contribute to the achievement of step-change improvements in the charity’s broader ability to engage new supporters, deepen relationships and raise increased and sustainable income. You can demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience working at management level in marketing roles, leading and implementing successful marketing strategies which draw heavily on digital marketing, ideally in the charity sector (however sector experience is not essential). Proven ability to add value to income generation / sales activities through successful multiplatform campaigns is key as is the ability to develop a website for better marketing performance. You can also demonstrate a proven ability to line manage; building highly cohesive, high performing teams based on the principles of trust, mutual respect and empowerment. You have the ability to manage complex programmes with competing priorities and ability to analyse complex data and draw meaningful learning to shape decisions, and of course you’ll have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and , of course, a good sense of humour! It is also important to be able to show the ability to work across teams and departments in a collaborative manner and to proactively engage colleagues on projects and initiatives and make a significant contribution at directorate level to strategy and cross-team planning.
