Fairgame is a groundbreaking competitive socialising concept, centred around a reimagined funfair experience, for adults only. Classic fairground games have been infused with proprietary RFID technology, allowing players scores to be tracked and displayed on digital leaderboards, creating an experience that is both nostalgic and yet totally fresh and new, and also highly competitive! The business was founded in 2021 by Richard Hilton (Gymbox founder and ex-CEO) and Paul Campbell (board member / investor of Hawksmoor, Blacklock, Yard Sale Pizza, the Alchemist, amongst others) and is private equity-backed. Fairgame currently operates a 15,500-square-foot venue in Canary Wharf which opened in October 2022, which welcomes over 330,000 people per annum, with annual turnover in excess of £12m. A second London location has now been secured in the City of London, and is due to open in the autumn of 2025. Fairgame is also in advanced negotiations to open its first US location, and first franchised location, in 2025.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing to join on a 14 months contract for maternity cover. This role is based in the Canary Wharf office, with one day per week WFH.
Reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will lead Marketing across Fairgame and work closely with the Social Media Executive to drive community engagement, manage our expansive CRM database, oversee influencer collaborations and manage the marketing efforts.
What you will do
New launch strategy: Oversee the launch of the new Fairgame City site, planning and coordinating the PR, influencer and paid media strategy for this huge new opening.
Brand Management: Protect, nurture, and develop the Fairgame brand across multiple touch points across the guest journey, both online and in venue.
CRM Management: Oversee CRM database of 500K+ contacts, focusing on the 100K+ opted into marketing. Lead projects related to loyalty scheme development.
Content and Communications: Manage day-to-day communications, including newsletters. Coordinate with external copywriters, ensuring alignment with brand tone and style.
Influencer Marketing: Manage collaborations with influencers through the Pingfluence platform, organising quarterly influencer events and partnership evenings.
Social Media: Support and mentor the Social Media Executive. Manage relationships with an external agency on all Paid Social campaigns.
PPC Campaigns: Coordinate with the head of sales to strategise PPC campaigns and manage an external agency to optimise results.
TV & Event Marketing: Engage in outreach and partnerships for TV shows and influencer filming. Organise ad-hoc events with the Sales and Events Team.
Brand and Design: While graphic design skills are not essential, experience with tools like Adobe InDesign and Illustrator is a plus. Manage freelance designers when necessary.
Website Management: Update and innovate Webflow site designs, improving user experience and site functionality.
Reporting: Prepare and present monthly marketing reports, highlighting significant campaigns and results to the board.
Partnership Building: Foster relationships with drink brands, local businesses, and charity partners to drive joint marketing initiatives.
Who you are:
Proven experience in a senior marketing role, preferably in hospitality or consumer-focused industries. Ideally in startups.
Strong CRM management experience, familiar with large databases.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects.
Experience in influencer marketing and social media strategy.
Knowledge of website management and design, with a preference for experience using Webflow.
