Head of Mechanical Design - Robotics

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Mechanical Design to lead and drive every aspect of our mechanical design operations, from concept to manufacture. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of new products and managing a team of two designers, while working closely with our production team.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead all mechanical design activities, ensuring innovation and excellence in every project. Develop new products and drive forward cutting-edge solutions. Manage and mentor two mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Liaise directly with our production team to ensure seamless design-to-manufacture transitions. What We're Looking For:
Essential Requirements:
A strong ability to design from first principles with a creative approach to solving complex problems. Experience in the design of special-purpose machines, precision mechanisms, xyz motion systems, and/or jigs and fixtures. Genuine passion for mechanical design. Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficiency with 3D parametric modelling software (preferably Autodesk Inventor). Eligibility to work in the UK. Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and internationally. Desirable Requirements:
Hands-on experience with metalworking machines such as milling and turning equipment. Exposure to robotics and/or automation technologies. What We Offer:
