Head of Midwifery and Neonatal Services . This pivotal role is a senior leadership position within the Care Group, reporting directly to the Care Group Triumvirate and holding professional accountability to the Chief Nurse. The post holder will play a vital role in leading nursing and midwifery teams within maternity and neonatal services, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care. With a focus on quality governance, risk management, and enhancing patient experience, this role is crucial in shaping the future of maternity services. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Accountability:

Provide guidance and strategic oversight to all midwifery and neonatal staff, including Deputy Heads of Midwifery, Consultant Midwives, Matrons, and clinical practitioners. Quality and Risk Management:

Lead on quality governance and risk management initiatives, ensuring that national standards and quality indicators are met and that appropriate actions are taken based on results. Service Development:

Drive innovation and implement strategies to empower teams at all levels, ensuring a workforce that is prepared for current and future healthcare challenges. Performance Monitoring:

Hold senior staff accountable for organisational and national performance standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Workforce Planning:

Secure the future of the workforce by implementing recruitment, retention, and development initiatives that align with organisational goals. About You

To excel in this role, you will be an experienced and dynamic leader with a strong background in midwifery and neonatal services. You will have: Registered midwife with the NMC

with evidence of personal and professional commitment to CPD in line with revalidation requirements Expertise in quality governance, risk management, and driving service improvements. A track record of achieving excellence in patient care and meeting national standards. Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
