Skills and Ability

Essential Criteria

Experience as Senior Midwife or Nurse in an acute NHS environment Evidence of working with Local Maternity and Neonatal Systems and Strategic Clinical Networks. Experience as a Matron/Clinical Midwifery/Nurse Manager managing clinical teams Proven record in initiating, evaluating and sustaining change Experience of transformation and national agendas within maternity and neonatal Desirable Criteria

Experience of co-production and working with MNVP Qualifications

Essential Criteria

Registered Midwife or Nurse Degree in Midwifery/Nursing Masters level study in health-related subject (or working towards) Evidence of recent post-registration continuous professional development/qualification Desirable Criteria

Project management/service improvement qualification Professional midwifery advocate Experience

Essential Criteria

Knowledge of clinical governance and risk management Demonstrate a desire to improve standards Ability to co-ordinate and liaise with multidisciplinary services at senior level Experience of quality improvement/change management Desirable Criteria

Experience in midwifery education/teaching Experience of team building Knowledge

Essential Criteria

Possess expertise in the concept of Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement, and evidence-based practice associated with the portfolio. Can demonstrate working knowledge of relevant statute, intercollegiate guidance, literature, research, and legislation relating to quality and safety of patient care, with a clear understanding and knowledge of National Policy directives/changes associated with nursing/midwifery practice.
