Position
As part of an ambitious 5-year growth plan, the Jamie Oliver Group has developed an exciting growth strategy for commercial brand partnerships, a new approach, targeting select categories and markets for strategic business development. The Head of New Business (Partnerships & Licensing) is a key part of the Products & Partnerships team, a commercial role that is focused on helping to deliver on this strategy, in close collaboration with the Head of Partnerships and Platforms, unlocking growth opportunities, specifically with new commercial brand partners.

Reporting to the CCO, the Head of New Business, will have very clear commercial targets, and will bring a strong background in sales and lead generation across relevant licensing, retail and consumer goods categories.

Work with the CCO and the Head of Partnerships & Platforms to deliver the new business development strategy across commercial brand partnerships.
Develop a strong pipeline of commercial brand partnership leads against key categories and markets; vet prospects and act as lead on opportunity and risk assessments for new potential partners.
In close collaboration with the Head of Partnerships, deliver a clear and actionable new business brief for creative development and commercial proposal development.
In partnership with the Head of Homeware, identify new licensing opportunities and prospects for select Homeware and Lifestyle categories.
When relevant, undertake landscape analysis and potential customer profiling to identify the strategy & areas for growth.
In partnership with key stakeholders, drive contract negotiations with new commercial brand partners and new licensing partners.
Conduct due diligence and manage the new business and internal approval process to ensure commercially sound, competitive and profitable financial deals
Lead on driving incremental revenue opportunities that are linked to delivering the Company’s 5 year business plan. Search & review strategic opportunities and present growth plans & forecasts
Input into ongoing financial planning & tracking process as well as relevant divisional reviews updating the Senior Leadership Team and Ops Board on all net new business development progress.
Requirements
Extensive experience within the licensing and/or retail and consumer goods sector in a sales and new business capacity
Extensive new business experience both UK and international, developing and sourcing new partners
Experience in contract negotiations and commercial planning; a track record in building and converting sales leads
Strong P&L understanding and how to maximise profitability through business development
Experience in collaborating across teams, jointly working to deliver and optimise a cross category partnership and licensing strategy
Rigour of strategic landscape analysis combined with the motivation and resilience required for ongoing outreach
High level of influencing and diplomacy skills and the ability to balance competing interests and manage multiple stakeholders with complex and competing objectives
Organised, structured and demonstrate a systematic approach in assessing a situation and seeing the route to the solution
