We are looking for a Head of Operations to oversee the Operational and Technical side of the business. You will join the team in Colne Valley, just north of Colchester, Essex. Why Fairfields Farm Crisps? We're a family-owned independent farm. Since 2006, we've been growing and transforming our premium-quality potatoes into award-winning, hand-cooked crisps right here on our farm. As we set our sights on becoming the UK's first carbon-neutral crisp producer, we are looking for exceptional talent to join our amazing team who share our commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. Recently, we've secured a significant contract that will see a significant volume uplift, marking an exciting phase of expansion and investment. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing operational efficiencies and implementing continuous improvement strategies that align with our vision. You will be entrusted with overseeing our operational and technical budgets while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping our future. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Lead operational and logistical strategy, driving efficiency across departments. Manage budgets and monitor financial performance. Maintain compliance with BRC and Food Safety regulations, ensuring all standards are upheld. Supervise production and technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with retail partners and facilitate supply logistics. Assist the Operations Director in succession planning for long-term organisational stability. Monitor expenditure and provide insights to the Financial Director regarding budget deviations. Plan and deliver large scale cap ex projects from start to finish. About you: You are a dynamic leader with a proven track record in operations and technical management within the food production industry; crisp production would be advantageous. You should possess a strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment, paired with exceptional leadership skills that resonate with our company culture.
