About The Role As Head of Operations Finance you will be responsible for operational finance at 6 sites across the UK, will report to the Business Unit Controller and lead a team of 5. You will have already been in such a role, so are probably aware of these key main duties and responsibilities: Oversee financial planning and control for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Procurement and Head Office, including month-end and budgeting processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, report, and forecast costs, leveraging insights to improve business outcomes. Drive continuous improvement across finance functions and evaluate capital expenditure proposals to maximize returns. Participate in S&OP and other meetings to address financial performance issues and implement solutions. Investigate financial variances with senior leaders and develop corrective actions to enhance performance. Ensure compliance with financial controls, accurate period-end reporting, and timely completion of financial documentation. Manage site-level financial reporting, supplier claims, and the development of key financial measures; support 'finance self-service' initiatives and handle ad hoc projects as needed. Lead balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adequate support for reported assets and liabilities. About You Most critically we need an outstanding people leader who has an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing for this role. It goes without saying that as this is a senior finance manager in Refresco UK that you are ACCA or CIMA qualified, and that you hold previous Operations Finance experience. We want someone who will lead and role model to the Refresco core values - agile, responsible, excellent, passionate and entrepreneurial. Hence you will need to have previous team leadership experience - clear, organised, structured leadership and objective setting. The other key aspect to this role is influencing internal stakeholders. You will work closely with the site General Managers, some members of the Refresco UK Senior Leadership team, and take part in the monthly S&OP process. You will need to challenge assumptions and push back when needed and provide sometimes uncomfortable insight and analysis into site performances. You will need to be used to working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Finally you will need to use your experience and knowledge to provide suggestions and insights for appropriate courses of action to address cost issues on the sites.
