As the UK’s leading family-owned Outdoor Power Equipment and Tools distributor, we are looking to appoint a Head of Outdoor to oversee one of our fastest-growing markets.

Sales-focused, you will spearhead the strategy and lead the sales teams to achieve ambitious revenue growth targets. You will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, expanding market presence, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership and a passion for driving results.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives, leveraging existing channels and customers.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and marketing teams to maximise their potential and exceed targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments to expand our reach and market share.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key suppliers and customers to drive long-term business partnerships.
  • Set pricing to achieve profit targets.
  • Accurate purchasing to achieve company stock targets.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment and optimise business performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics, KPIs, and financial targets and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and networking opportunities.

Professional Experience:

  • Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role(s).
  • Degree qualified with ideally 5-10 years of sales management experience in a product supply environment (preferably the outdoor market sector, but not essential).

  • Have demonstrable ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, resulting in revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, customers and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on driving business outcomes.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Deep understanding of distribution channels and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit production facilities.
