Osteoporosis is an an underdiagnosed condition and you could be making a very significant difference to the lives of the 3.5 million people affected by and at risk of osteoporosis. Royal Osteoporosis Society works to improve diagnosis and access to care forthe unacceptably high number of peoplewhoselives risk being devastated bythis highly treatable conditioneach day.Fractures represent the fourth largest cause of disability and death. We have been recently influencing some major policy changes and are seeking to raise further awareness and support to help more people avoid debilitating lifestyle changes, investing now in its fundraising team. Fuelled by two national media partnerships over the past year,ROS has recently secured acommitment from all political parties forthe national adoption ofa ‘gold standard’ NHS diagnostic service by 2030, which will prevent 74,000 fractures over five years, saving over 8,000 lives. This influencing success willultimately increase people approaching ROS for support.We have had some strong recent success in all three areas of Trusts, Corporate and Major Donor income, and with your help we are looking to build on this, funding significant projects which will make a step change in our reach and impact, to meet the urgent and growing need. Linked to the low public awareness of the condition, ROS’s voluntary income had been static for far too long. We’ve now increased our fundraised income by 50% over the last three years and have the ambition to transform our income further to meet the urgent and growing need for our services. You would haveresponsibility for diversifying, developing and driving ROS’s high value funding and partnerships to generate restricted and unrestricted income and in-kindvaluefor the charity, primarily through grant giving trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and major donors, , whilst we are also seeking to understand the market for commercial income streams. Working with thestakeholders across the charity, you would also support the development of new charitable programmesso that their sustainable funding is central to their design from the outset. The Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy reports directly to the Director ofIncome and Engagementand is part of thewiderLeadership Team. Investment in our peopleisof paramount importance to ROS and from day one, you will have access to what is needed to support your personal and professional development, to ensure you have the skills and support to lead and grow with the role. You will also have the ability and backing to grow your team and investment as we build and diversify ROS’s income.
