Head of People Planning and Development
within the People and Culture Directorate. Reporting to the Deputy Director of People and being part of the senior leadership team, the role is responsible for the strategic development and operational delivery of the following teams: Education Learning and Organisational Development Workforce Planning Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Workforce Systems and Information It is also responsible for delivery of the strategic objectives within the Annual Delivery Plan relating to these areas. We are looking for a transformational leader with a proven track record of success in HR operational delivery within a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation. Essential criteria include: Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience and be a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Significant experience in senior HR leadership roles within organisations of similar scale and complexity, ideally within the NHS or public sector. Strong workforce planning skills. Exceptional communication and influencing skills to inspire and lead teams effectively. Experience of translating workforce plan/strategy into development plan. Track record of design and delivery of OD solutions and interventions. Base will be negotiable within NHS Highland. The role would be appropriate for hybrid working but there is an expectation of regularly being available for onsite working at the main corporate base, Assynt House, in Inverness. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
