Due to continued growth and expansion, we have a brand new and exciting opportunity for a Head of Planning to join our team based our Head Office in Basingstoke.


The role

As Head of Planning, you will lead the planning and operations purchasing department.


Key duties.


  • Leadership and people management of the planning and operational purchasing team frequently.
  • Overarching and leading the centralised planning team facilitating the global plan across all supply and demand sites.
  • Working cohesively with the Master Data and Planning Manager and Head of Supply Chain to optimise planning and master data set up.
  • Ensuring global supply and demand is optimised and stock is aligned.
  • Daily management of routine transactional purchasing requirements for a wide range of commodities including electronics, machining, raw materials, injection mouldings, proprietary parts, third party products and subcontract processes
  • Daily management of factory planning and scheduling across four production areas, assembly department and service area
  • Ensuring daily operational KPIs are met, such as Despatch OTD, Supplier OTD
  • Developing robust material management processes to ensure accuracy of stock
  • Supporting ERP enhancement programs
  • Inventory management and optimisation in line with budget expectations
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) planning and improving / streamlining processes
  • Future Integration of PLM into ERP system

Key skills


  • Degree or relevant qualification in supply chain or production planning
  • Supply chain/Planning Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Production planning and scheduling experience within a manufacturing batch and serialised environment
  • S&OP process management experience.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of ERP set up and optimisation
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills and experience.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire complex and geographically diverse teams.
  • Self-driven and result orientated.
