Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Head of Preconstruction/Design for a power and utilities contractor working on a large-scale electrical framework. The ideal candidate would have strong substation experience up to 132kV and have worked in a similar role on contractor or client side. Responsibilities:

Act as the primary contact for all pre-construction inquiries, particularly around design, across various communication platforms. Review and keep up-to-date pre-construction project schedules to ensure accuracy and relevance. Oversee all design work on substation and grid connection work on this framework. Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to support the timely and successful delivery of projects. Collect data through customer interactions and site visits to provide the estimating and delivery teams with essential pre-construction insights. Establish and manage the Project Communication System, provided by the Client/EPC Contractor and other relevant parties, ensuring the proper distribution, archiving, and storage of all incoming and outgoing documentation. Maintain project management tools, such as Status Reports and any other monitoring reports required by the Project Owner. Participate in relevant meetings to understand the support needs for each project. Assist in the preparation of pre-energization documentation. Provide regular operational and commercial updates to enhance the client experience. Support various administrative tasks across project development, design submissions, payment stages, construction, and operations. Education/Qualifications:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field. Demonstrable experience in Pre-Construction Design Management for substations. Ideally experienced in grid connections, high voltage electrical or major infrastructure projects up to 132kV. Strong design and feasibility background on substation and electrical projects. Proficiency in productivity and collaboration software, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint, on multiple platforms (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops). A full UK driving license. Excellent long-term opportunity for a candidate to work on this long-term framework. Will be working directly with the Project Delivery Lead on this framework to ensure the work is carried out to the required standard and in the most efficient way possible.
