We are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement with strong direct procurement experience to join an established manufacturing company in Essex and play a pivotal part in their exciting organisational transformation journey. You will be an experienced strategic procurement professional with experience in acquiring components, packaging, or raw materials. You will have demonstrable experience in shaping a procurement function and delivering impactful results in a fast-moving operation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business transformation goals. Optimise supply chain performance through market trend analysis and risk management. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, securing cost-effective, high-quality solutions. Collaborate across teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Lead and inspire a high-performing procurement team, fostering agility and efficiency. What You Bring
Proven expertise in procurement leadership within manufacturing or industrial sectors. Strong skills in negotiation, supplier management, and cost-saving strategies. A passion for driving change, building partnerships, and optimising procurement operations. Experience with ERP systems and risk management practices. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in International Business, Procurement Supply Chain Management, or related. Professional Qualification (CIPS, EIPM, ISM etc.) 5+ years of experience in Direct Procurement and procurement team management would be ideal! Experience in P2P implementation. Experience in working in cross-functional teams. Experience in SRM would be a benefit. Experience in Product Policy Management would be an advantage.
