Job Role
This is a hybrid role working at sites in both the Midlands and North East. You will need to source cost-effective materials and services for the business within agreed specifications and timelines. Indirect procurement is essential.
Requirements
Negotiate pricing and manage costs for assigned spend Collaborate with the procurement team in execution of group strategies Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers Maintain expert knowledge of assigned categories and suppliers including industry trends, economic factors, supply chain and sustainability issues Forecast price trends and maintain forward pricing for assigned categories Identify continuous improvement programs for assigned category spend Build strong working relationships with Supply Chain, Production, QA, Finance, and R&D Support R&D, Sales and suppliers in new product development Collaborate with the Quality Team to minimize and resolve supplier quality issues Manage product supply to meet the business needs and ensure appropriate stock levels Contribute to the development of the procurement strategy
Personal Profile
Previous commercial purchasing/buying experience, preferably within an FMCG environment Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and deliver according to deadlines Analytically and process-minded Ability to deliver commercially driven negotiations Demonstrates integrity, a strong work ethic and upholds the company values and principles Computer literate Able to travel within the UK and EU German speaking is highly beneficial
