We’re looking for an exceptional Project Delivery professional to join us as the new Head of Project Delivery Capability to help us make a difference to our planet. As our Head of Project Delivery Capability, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work. Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, and we will also try our best to consider those intending to work a job share. You will be a highly experienced and inspirational project professional. You will drive profession and capability maturity through leadership and direction of the Met Office's project delivery capability, creating extraordinary impact and benefit for the customer through your multidisciplinary project and programme teams. Ensure the delivery of outcomes defined in the P3M maturity plan, and continuous improvement in project delivery focus and professional competencies/capabilities aligned with guidance and standards of Government Project Delivery Profession. Empower your teams through effective engagement and collaboration to ensure clear and consistent delivery which meets business needs and supports the achievement of the Met Office strategy. Ensure continual alignment of the profession and capability to Met Office strategic direction, particularly at moments of Strategy Refresh. Work internally and externally to support the ongoing growth of the Delivery Profession as a Deputy Head of Profession, maintaining your continued professional development to be able to provide credible leadership within project delivery, for example through engagement with the APM, and through acting as an IPA Accredited Reviewer. As our Head of Project Delivery Capability, your total reward package will be up to £89,943 annually, which includes: An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 28.97%. Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave. Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience:

Professional qualifications and/or chartership such as APM, Managing Successful Programmes, and Project Leadership Programme. Demonstration of leadership competencies commensurate with CMI standards Stage 3. Demonstrable experience creating a diverse and inclusive environment; understanding the benefits of an inclusive culture and using this to realise business results. Experienced Line Manager who has managed large delivery teams across a geographically dispersed workforce, and all aspects of budget, financial planning and resource allocation. Demonstrable experience of people and capability development, and performance management, with passion and integrity. Experienced and active IPA Accredited Reviewer. How to Apply
