Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Psychology to lead our psychology department. This pivotal role requires a strong leader who is passionate about mental health and well-being, with a proven track record in developing care plans and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be adept in utilising IT systems to enhance departmental efficiency. Duties Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Lead, mentor, and support a team of assistant psychologists and mental health professionals, ensuring high standards of practice. Collaborate with other departments to integrate psychological services into overall patient care. Conduct regular assessments of departmental performance and implement strategies for improvement. Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance staff skills and knowledge in psychological practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in psychology and mental health, ensuring the department adheres to best practices. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to promote understanding and cooperation. Requirements A recognised qualification in Psychology (e.g., Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent). Significant experience in a leadership role within a psychological or mental health setting. Proven ability to develop effective care plans that meet the diverse needs of patients. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in relevant software applications for documentation and reporting. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of current trends in psychology.
