Head of Quality & Standards

to join our busy Quality Assurance team at Gateway Qualifications. What we need you to do: As Head of Quality & Standards, you will be developing and leading the successful strategy and operation of the quality assurance function for regulated qualifications (Ofqual, Qualifications Wales, QAA) and unregulated products ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will lead on determining the standards and monitoring requirements to ensure quality of provision and compliance in centres in relation to qualification delivery and assessment. You will be inspiring, motivate and manage the quality assurance team, ensuring high engagement and high performance to deliver our strategic plan. What we are looking for: At least 5 years’ management experience in an awarding organisation in a quality assurance function. Experience of working within awarding organisations and regulatory requirements relating to assessment and product delivery and awarding. Experience of managing and leading a team of staff and associates (e.g., Principal EQAs, Centre EQAs, Subject Specialist EQAs, markers). Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements including Ofqual General Conditions of Recognition, Qualification Wales’ Standard Conditions of Recognition, QAA Access to HE licence criteria. Strong written and oral communication skills with experience of liaising verbally and in writing with a range of external stakeholders regarding complex or sensitive issues. Positive, can-do attitude to ensure continuous improvements. This means you’ll be mainly based at home and will need reliable, high-speed internet connection and a quiet place to work. You must be able to commute to our Colchester office as required.
