ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Retail to lead and manage our retail operations across multiple Bamford sites, including Bamford Barn at Daylesford, South Audley, London and Bicester. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, achieving sales and financial targets, and leading a motivated team aligned with our company values. You will play a key role in driving business performance, product knowledge, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLs

  • Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire retail teams at Bicester, The Bamford Barn, and London sites. Foster a high-performance culture and ensure the team delivers on business objectives.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Coach Store Managers to provide top-tier customer service, handle escalated issues, and benchmark service levels against competitors.
  • Product & Merchandising: Champion product knowledge across retail and work closely with Buying, Supply Chain, and VM teams to ensure store presentation and product allocation meet high standards.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage sales and EBITDA budgets, forecast sales, optimize wage costs, and drive target achievement in stock loss and inventory control.
  • Operations & Compliance: Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained across all sites, manage IT, finance, and operational processes, and support retail systems. Identify new business opportunities and contribute to retail strategy development.
  • People Management: Recruit, train, and coach retail staff, manage team administration, and ensure personal and professional development across all locations.

    SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

  • Proven leadership experience in retail management, preferably across multiple locations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to drive sales, manage budgets, and achieve financial goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach and the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, product knowledge, and competitor analysis.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to split working time across various retail sites.
