Head of Sales and Marketing – Automotive Software

Langham Recruitment has been retained to identify a Head of Sales and Marketing for much-admired provider of software to the automotive and motorsport manufacturing sector globally. Reporting to MD the Head of Sales and Marketing is a key member of Senior Leadership Team with strong potential to grow in scope and seniority.


Objectives / role:

  • Lead, manage, develop and support the sales team to deliver continued profitable revenue growth across motorsport, traditional automotive development and ADAS / Autonomous Vehicles
  • Reactive to Proactive customer engagement and opportunity development, whilst respecting the consultative and technical nature of the sales role in these markets
  • Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial long-term relationships with customers
  • Manage and develop a marketing function composed of internal and external resources
  • Formulation and execution of sales strategies including new customer development and existing customer penetration
  • Support in the launch of new products and the development of future revenue streams from new markets


Experience Required:

  • Strong understanding and experience of working in the automotive and / or motorsport sector as a Head of Sales and Marketing, Sales Director, Business Development Manager or similar
  • Must have experience of selling software or as a minimum of selling a technical B2B products with a software component
  • Track record of delivering revenue growth, both through developing relationships with existing customers and establishing relationships with new customers
  • Able to develop, articulate and execute sales and marketing strategies to a complex client base.
  • Able to convert enquiries into capturing technical requirements, engaging with relevant business stakeholders both internal and external to produce technically relevant solutions for customers and making the sales
  • As a leader of people, can engage, support and develop the team and be prepared to lead from the front in winning business. Have a strong focus on developing sales and marketing strategies and on delivering customer value in order to meet the business’ goals
  • A track record in selling to Automotive OEMs, tier 1 and 2 suppliers
  • A track record of using a CRM, marketing analytics and data to improve sales
  • Being a team player, good at engaging with staff, colleagues and customers, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style


The Package:

  • Basic salary in the range £85,000 to £100,000 dependent on experience
  • Annual salary review
  • Bonus Scheme - 20% of salary on-target payment
  • Hybrid working – one day a week onsite
  • 25 days holiday, Pension, Income Protection, Healthcare, Vehicle scheme etc…
