About the Role Are you a passionate leader with a strong background in learning difficulties and disabilities, and inclusion? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Student Experience to join our Specialist Preparation for Adulthood curriculum team. This is a pivotal leadership role, driving the development and implementation of strategies that ensure every student thrives academically, socially, and personally. Key Responsibilities Champion inclusion and equity, ensuring all students, particularly those with learning disabilities and difficulties receive the tailored support they need. Lead on personal development, behaviour, and attitudes, ensuring they meet or exceed Ofsted standards. Oversee SHAPE tutorial activities (Staying Safe, Health & Well-being, Active Citizenship, Progression & Careers, and Equality Matters). Drive improvements in attendance, behaviour, and outcomes for students in priority groups, including those with protected characteristics. Line manage Student Mentors, Technicians, and Employment, Skills and Placement Officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Organise and deliver learner enrichment activities with a focus on Preparing for Adulthood (PfA), enabling students to develop essential life skills and independence. Collaborate with cross-college teams to enhance tutorial provision, enrichment opportunities, and employability skills. Promote a culture of safeguarding, mental health awareness, and respect for diversity. While not mandatory, we are particularly interested in candidates who embody the following: Have extensive experience in inclusion, understanding how to support young people with additional support needs, including those with EHCP's. Have a proven track record in similar leadership roles. Possess strong knowledge of safeguarding and equality legislation. Demonstrate exceptional communication, data analysis, and team leadership skills. Be adept at managing performance, budgets, and partnerships to deliver outstanding results. Hold relevant qualifications, including a degree or equivalent professional experience and preferably hold safeguarding qualifications.
