We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity within our Quality team for a Head of Sustainable Waste Management.

This role will see the successful candidate lead Tesco's Group sustainable waste management strategy, supporting business cases and decisions while ensuring compliance with relevant waste regulations.

You Will Be Responsible For

Setting and driving Tesco's sustainable waste management strategy. Managing waste streams (excluding food waste), focusing on waste collected in-store, dotcom, or RSU. Collection, processing, and finding sustainable markets for various waste streams including packaging and electronics. Effective waste supplier management, including contract compliance and standards. Leading strategy on PRNs and relevant regulations. Introducing innovations to meet our objectives. Forecasting and reporting for waste streams, including recycling and contamination tonnages. Linking accurate forecasting to spend and compliance expectations. Reviewing and improving processes and policies within stores and RSUs. Resolving issues related to waste and recycling streams. Facilitating collaboration with internal stakeholders. Developing mechanisms to track adherence to waste management policies. Overseeing business continuity planning for supplier failures. Setting up the new waste and recycling team. Collaborating with Head of Sustainable Packaging and Food Surplus. Contributing to the sustainability leadership team.

You Will Need Experience in leading or working in complex NWTs. Experience working with external stakeholders. Experience in creating and driving strategy as well as delivering plans. Deep waste/recycling management experience or regulatory understanding. Supplier management experience.
