Head of Tax

role at a prominent global professional services firm, based in London. The Role As Head of Tax, you will step into a leadership role, taking responsibility for a team of tax professionals. This is a pivotal position offering the chance to lead and develop a highly capable team, manage an impressive client portfolio, and drive the strategic growth of the tax function. Key aspects of the role include: Overseeing a team handling predominantly corporate tax with a mixed portfolio of foreign-owned companies (primarily from the US tech sector) and UK owner-managed businesses (OMBs). Leading compliance-focused services while identifying opportunities to expand advisory work across areas such as property, private clients, VAT, and transfer pricing. Collaborating with a strong and diverse leadership team, contributing to the firm's broader strategic goals. Mentoring and inspiring team members at all levels, from newly qualified professionals to senior managers. Leveraging international opportunities and collaborating across the firm's global network of offices. The Person To excel in this role, you will need: Proven technical expertise in tax, with a focus on corporate tax. Experience in VAT, R&D, or transfer pricing is advantageous. Strong leadership and people skills, with a genuine passion for nurturing and developing talent. The ability to inspire trust and confidence in clients, team members, and the broader leadership group. A CTA or ACA qualification (or equivalent). A track record of success in a mid-tier practice or similar environment. The Package Competitive salary with flexibility for the right candidate.
