An international market leading group in the media industry are looking for an interim Head of Group Tax for a period of at least 6 months to take strategic ownership of all tax matters (both direct and indirect) across the Group. This is a highly visible and strategic position, working closely with senior executives across the business. You will lead a high-performing team of tax professionals and oversee all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance, planning, and advisory across our global operations. Key responsibilities:

Develop and implement the group's global tax strategy to align with business objectives and ensure compliance. Oversee all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, managing risks effectively. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Provide strategic tax advice on business activities, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and cross-border transactions. Monitor global tax policy developments and proactively adapt strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities. Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient tax operations. Drive process improvements and technology adoption within the tax function to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Lead transfer pricing strategies. Primary point of contact for HMRC on all tax matters including general queries, information requests, disputes, voluntary disclosures and audits. Person Requirements:

Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, CPA) or equivalent. Extensive experience in both direct and indirect taxation within a global organization or professional services firm. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong knowledge of international tax regulations, transfer pricing, and cross-border tax issues. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day operational demands. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
