We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Van Fleet to join our Welham Green site. Motus Truck and Van is a leading provider of commercial vehicles and fleet solutions, dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable Mercedes-Benz vehicles and ongoing support to our customers. Our van sales division plays a crucial part in our success. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fleet Sales Manager to build our Van Fleet Sales team and implement our Fleet strategy. What will you be doing? The Head of Fleet Sales will lead the Fleet Sales Department with full ownership of departmental activities, ensuring effective pipeline management, timely delivery of contracts, and excellent service to key accounts. The role involves crafting and executing a robust strategy for new client acquisition, while maintaining and growing existing fleet accounts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a customer-centric approach, and an ability to consistently achieve sales and profitability targets. This new position in our business offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Van Fleet Sales Team. Key Accountabilities Take full ownership of the Fleet Sales Department, driving performance and aligning activities with company goals. Guide and inspire the Sales Team, in-line with clearly defined KPIs and performance expectations. Develop and oversee a strategic sales plan to achieve targets and grow the fleet business. Recruit & develop additional fleet team members to deliver desired growth. Enhance the skills and product knowledge of the sales team by engaging fully with Manufacturer training programmes and arranging ad-hoc training on site. Monitor and manage the fleet sales pipeline to ensure timely conversion of opportunities into revenue. Regularly review sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and KPIs. Identify and mitigate risks within the sales process. Ensure compliance with all company policies relating to sales transactions. Review pipeline unsold stock specifications periodically to ensure immediate availability of suitable vehicles for fleet clients in stock. Work with Admin colleagues to amend specifications of fresh pipeline stock units within time limits. Key Account Management Strengthen relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Implement & oversee regular client reviews. Ensure contracts are delivered and executed on time with excellence. Negotiate terms and pricing to maximize profitability while delivering value to clients. Develop and implement strategies for new fleet client acquisition. Identify and target new business opportunities through research, market analysis, and networking. Partner with marketing to design campaigns that attract and convert new fleet clients. Propose events (own & external) to promote Fleet Department capabilities & strengthen client relationships. Reporting Provide regular, timely updates on order intake, payment status, handovers and CSI scores. Submit regular weekly forecasts for new & used vans – sales, profitability & stock (turn & costs) Use data insights to optimize processes, improve performance, and achieve department objectives. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, adjusting strategies accordingly. Service Delivery Ensure all client requirements are met with superior service delivery. Collaborate with Aftersales Colleagues, External Suppliers and Manufacturer & internal logistics teams to ensure smooth and timely vehicle deliveries. Address and resolve client issues promptly and professionally. Stakeholder Collaboration Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, such as Aftersales Colleagues or our Brand Partners to ensure customers make the best possible experience in their dealings with us. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders, such as Clients, Brand Partners & suppliers, and Aftersales Colleagues. Compliance Adherence with all/any applicable FCA rules & regulations. Ensure that we act, at all times, in line with our Manufacturer Partners’ compliance policies Monday – Friday 40 hours per week Company car will be provided Annual salary is dependant on experience Successful track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in Fleet/Key Account Management. Automotive experience preferred. Team Leadership: Experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams. Strategic Focus: Ability to set a vision and lead a team to achieve ambitious goals Customer Focus: Exceptional service delivery skills with a commitment to client satisfaction. Expertise in contract negotiation to maximize value for the business and clients. Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing sales data and deriving actionable insights. Effective communicator and relationship-builder. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 8-10 years of experience in fleet or automotive sales, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Deep understanding of the automotive and fleet sales market, including emerging trends.
