This is an exciting new post working in the Cardiff & Value UHB waste Team. The primary function of the role is to support the achievement of organisational objectives and key Welsh Government targets in waste and recycling legislation. The post holderwill be expected to professionally lead waste activities in a way that ensures the establishment and comprehensive development of high-quality service. We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to work alongside us within the Facilties Team. The applicant should have the essential requirements outlined in the personal specification , with excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to prioritise their own workload. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job

To ensure that the UHB's waste services are delivered in an efficient, effective and safe manner with due regard to relevant statutory legislation, Health & Safety requirements and UHB policies and procedures. To lead waste activities in a way that ensures the establishment and comprehensive development of high-quality services within the available resources. Take direct responsibility for the provision of health and safety advice on waste issues on behalf of the UHB. About us

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent level of experience in the specialist areas of waste or facilities IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification and experience. NEBOSH General Certificate. Chartered membership of a recognised professional institution Experience

Development and implementation of Waste strategies/policies within a complex organisation. Responsibility for the development, implementation and management of diverse and intricate Waste projects Experience of liaising with multidisciplinary staff in a large organisation. knowledge and skills

Specialist Knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas: Managing Change within a service ? Highly Competent in the use of information Management and the Microsoft Office suit of programmes tools and techniques. ?Analytical / audit skills and experience of its use in option appraisal/ service planning ?Problem solving skills, utilising complex information to identify solutions The ability to conceive and develop innovative ideas into practical working solutions Negotiating with staff, construction professionals, contractor and suppliers to achieve desirable or planned outcomes Leadership and influencing skills ?Motivational and organisational skills ?Managing conflict within service priorities and staff ?Ability to develop and maintain effective multidisciplinary working relationships, particularly during change Ability to work well under pressure Ability to communicate highly complex information in a hostile environment, of a sensitive or contentious nature Ability to persuade and encourage others Other
