An outstanding school based in Slough are looking to appoint a qualified teacher as a Head of Year. We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed person to join our pastoral team which is a pivotal element of school life. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make his or her mark in this key middle leadership role. Pastoral Care is a strength of the school and you will work alongside a Pastoral Manager to lead one of our Year groups.
CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will ideally have some pastoral experience in and will be looking to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone with the passion and commitment to improve the lives of our wonderful students. The post holder will need up to date knowledge of the effective pastoral care and have the skills to communicate effectively with students' and parents/carers. They will also be able to present information in a way that is understood by all. The ability to offer English, Geography, Science or History would be advantageous.
DUTIES:
Provide academic and pastoral care, support and guidance to the year group
Lead and manage team of tutors and staff
lead on, plan and deliver assemblies
Carry out duties of a teacher
Manage students' behaviour
School will pay according to your pay scale and TLR2 is included in the salary.
Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A relevant degree
Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Approachable and encouraging
