Companion Care Vets Winchester is a busy and well-established practice, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and handling a high volume of medical and surgical cases. We maintain excellent standards of inpatient care, and we need dedicated individuals to join our team to help us achieve our vision.

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader who enjoys mentoring and inspiring their team. We seek a motivated, strong individual to take on a key leadership role, guiding colleagues through a variety of cases and utilizing your extensive nursing expertise to ensure the highest standards of clinical care for our patients and exceptional service for our clients.

You will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including in-house laboratory work, digital x-rays, and ultrasounds, as well as supporting the team in both clinical and operational tasks. The role will involve managing a mix of nursing and administrative responsibilities while providing guidance to help your team grow in their respective roles. We are ideally looking for a clinical coach to support our Student Veterinary Nurses as they embark on their veterinary nursing journey.

The ideal candidate will:

Lead and manage nursing team activities, ensuring the smooth running of the practice. Provide high-quality care in all aspects of nursing including anaesthesia, diagnostics, and inpatient care. Support and mentor student nurses, helping them develop their clinical skills. Be an active part of the team, building strong relationships with clients and patients. Manage a varied caseload in a practice equipped with in-house lab, digital x-ray, and ultrasound. Share your knowledge and expertise, helping improve and elevate practice standards.

In this rewarding full-time position, you will join a team consisting of four vets, five registered veterinary nurses (RVNs), and two student veterinary nurses (SVNs).

The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with no out-of-hours work; however, you will need to participate in the weekend rota, which is currently 1 in 3.

The practice is located inside a Pets at Home store, on the outskirts of the cathedral city of Winchester, approximately a 5-minute drive from the city centre and train station.
