We are looking for a new Head of Clinic to join our friendly veterinary team at Mayhew, an animal welfare charity based in Kensal Green, North London. Our well-equipped clinic provides veterinary care for the animals at our rehoming centre, as well as offering free preventative care – primarily neutering and vaccinations – to local pet owners in need. Mayhew is proud of its long history of supporting the most vulnerable animals and their owners in our community. This is a unique leadership role, managing a small team of 2 vets and 3 nurses. Together, you will provide practical and compassionate care to both our centre animals and pets in the local community. This role would be ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in shelter medicine and/or community veterinary care. Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a small clinical team, ensuring high standards of care Oversee the day-to-day running of the clinic, including surgeries and diagnostics Provide hands-on veterinary care, with time allocated for management and administrative duties Advise the charity on veterinary matters and contribute to shaping future programmes Work independently and manage your own time effectively About You:

We are looking for someone who is: Registered with the MRCVS with at least 5 years of clinical experience Confident in routine first-opinion surgeries and diagnostics Experienced in leadership and management, ideally with experience running a clinic Flexible, with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks Comfortable working in sole charge when necessary Why Join Us?

Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday, so some Saturday and Bank Holiday work is required. There is also a very light on-call requirement, limited to the animals in our care, with additional pay for on-call duties.
