We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an expanding, privately owned independent mixed practice in Leicestershire as Head Veterinary Surgeon.

Our client is a RCVS accredited practice located in a sought-after market town in the picturesque county of Rutland, which was voted one of the best places to live in the Midlands by the Sunday Times in 2023. The town offers a wealth of history, excellent shops, bars, restaurants, and a vibrant weekly market, ensuring something for everyone.

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head Small Animal Vet to manage and oversee the day-to-day clinical caseload and business operations at the practice. You will provide support and leadership to your colleagues, mentor graduates, and strive to combine exceptional, bespoke, and affordable care with progressive best practices in veterinary medicine. Previous leadership experience is essential for this role.

The practice prides itself on state-of-the-art equipment, including an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, X-ray, blood pressure monitoring, and modern dental equipment.

You will be working alongside an experienced team, including six certificate holders, an advanced practitioner in small animal medicine, and a surgical certificate holder. Additionally, you will have the support of a warm and friendly nursing team and support staff.

The Rota: • Full time role • 4-day week with administration time built in • OOH rota (maximum of 1:15 though currently at 1:10)
