We have an opportunity for the right candidate to join South Lanarkshire Council and develop a career in occupational health and safety. As part of our established health and safety team, your role will be both office and site-based, providing advice to all employees on how to work without harming themselves or others. The interesting and unexpected are regular features in our role here at the council.
The successful applicant will work with managers and team members to advise on statutory health & safety requirements as they affect the council's operations. In addition, they will help administer a range of support systems used across the council.
The apprenticeship duration is 24 months. During this time, you will complete the SVQ Occupational Health and Safety (Level 7) Award, with other training opportunities provided as your experience develops.
There is to be an information session for those that are shortlisted. It is intended to provide those with little knowledge of the role of a health and safety professional an opportunity to find out more about the job and the tasks. It is not part of the interview process; appointment to the role will be based on the application form content and the interview. The information session will be held on the 7th of March at 14:00hrs.
