As the site Health & Safety Coordinator you will help to deliver our Company’s strategic priority of “Safety First” through owning and driving health and safety activities on site. You will be based in a factory environment and main responsibilities include: • Putting Safety First – role-modelling expected health & safety behaviours and championing health and safety on site. • Complete safety monitoring exercises on site and ensure checks are carried out by other personnel. • Promote hazard and near miss reporting on site and lead feedback and improvement activities. • Produce and review risk assessments and standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Deliver health & safety briefings, toolbox talks and training. • Investigate accidents and near misses, establishing root causes and agreeing corrective actions. Who would suit this role? This role would suit someone who is driven, self-motivated and has a ‘can-do’ attitude. You need to have a good level of IT literacy, be hands on and demonstrate ownership and driving of health and safety activities. A recognised Health and Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety would be advantageous but not essential – training can be provided to the right candidate. Any previous galvanizing or steel experience would be beneficial.
