Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic textiles business who are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager on a permanent basis due to growth to cover the South of the UK.

As the Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the employees, contractors, and visitors. You will provide expert advice, conduct audits, and assist in developing and implementing health and safety strategies in line with company policies and legislative requirements.

Duties and responsibilities: Assist the Group Health and Safety Manager in creating and implementing health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections across all company sites. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation. Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety awareness. Investigate incidents and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations. Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments and training logs. Support the implementation of environmental management initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into business operations.

Qualifications and experience: NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent (essential). Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH or equivalent). Proven experience in a health and safety management role within a similar industry. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
