WHAT WE OFFER: Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Location: Either Consett or Crayford Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday Company Benefits: Company-funded 1% benefit allowance, 2 wellbeing days, Pension scheme, Enhanced parental leave, 28 days holiday + bank holidays We are looking for a confident and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead, communicate and coordinate the implementation of EHS objectives and associated projects across the Normec DETS & Latis businesses. With proven experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental management capacity, and familiarity of maintaining EHS management systems certified to ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015, the successful candidate will enhance the company’s EHS culture and prevent accidents and occupational diseases for all employees, contractors, third parties and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Lead on and support maintenance in compliance with the EHS legal requirements and industry best practice. Where required, be responsible for the delivery of EHS outcomes such as audits. Lead and support the undertaking of EHS Risk Assessments, ensuring that relevant management and/or workers are engaged and that the identified risks and controls are effectively communicated. With operational managers, identify EHS training needs and ensure relevant training is provided to meet legal and other requirements. Provide support to operational managers by monitoring and ensuring the consistent and timely completion of all operational safety and environmental checks, including ensuring that identified actions from these checks are promptly addressed. Regularly conduct emergency response exercises and drills to ensure the highest level of preparedness for all potential emergencies. Lead and support facility management at the sites, including but not limited to management of fire safety systems and energy management systems. Lead and support the investigation of the root cause of EHS incidents reported by staff members, customers, clients, and contractors, reporting the results to line managers and making recommendations for corrective and preventive actions. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Minimum Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management Experience in ISO 14001 and 45001 is essential Lead Auditor qualification would be an advantage Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
