Great Role in North London for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to work within the Voids and Disrepair side of construction. A smaller size business in the Social Housing sector has some great contracts for you to work on where your knowledge is key to overseeing sites in the North London area - Car driver essential. A salary of £45,000 is being offered for the right person. Key Responsibilities:

Health and Safety Management:

Overseeing health and safety practices on construction sites, especially in void properties and disrepair projects. Ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards. Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure that safety measures are being followed. Monitoring work practices to ensure that the correct safety procedures are being implemented on-site.

Void and Disrepair Management:

Supervising and managing the health and safety aspects of void properties, ensuring that any maintenance or renovation works are carried out safely. Ensuring compliance with legislation relating to void management, including risks associated with asbestos, lead, and other hazardous materials. Managing the safety of disrepair works to residential properties, minimizing risks to workers, tenants, and the public.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of health and safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident reports. Producing health and safety reports for senior management, contractors, and clients. Developing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements for ongoing and upcoming works.

Training and Compliance:

Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors are adequately trained in health and safety protocols and that safety inductions are provided. Keeping up to date with the latest health and safety legislation and ensuring the company complies with these regulations. Promoting a safety-first culture throughout the organization and encouraging staff participation in health and safety practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Health and Safety Manager Qualifications:

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent). A construction-related qualification (e.g., SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, or similar). First Aid at Work certification. CSCS Card (preferred).

Health and Safety Manager Experience:

Significant experience (typically 3+ years) in a Health and Safety Manager or similar role within the construction industry. Proven experience in managing void properties and disrepair works, ideally in a housing or residential environment. Experience overseeing safety in refurbishment or maintenance projects, with a strong understanding of the risks involved in voids and disrepairs (e.g., asbestos, mould, and other structural risks). Ability to create and enforce safety protocols on-site. Knowledge of local regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM regulations, and other relevant construction safety legislation.

Additional Skills:

Strong communication skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and engage with site teams and subcontractors. Excellent organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Job Details:
