A leading civil engineering company involved in a range of large-scale infrastructure projects across the UK. This role involves working on-site, supporting project teams in meeting stringent health and safety standards.


About the Role:

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring safety compliance across all aspects of the civil engineering projects. This role requires someone with hands-on experience in construction or civil engineering, capable of understanding and addressing the specific health and safety needs of this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on-site to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Provide proactive guidance and support to site teams on all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and other training programs
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of health and safety policies and risk assessments
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture across the project


Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • NEBOSH diploma level or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)
  • Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering or construction practices
  • Experience in a similar role within the civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and educate on-site teams
  • This could be a developmental role for a junior candidate
