Develop, implement, and monitor Health & Safety policies and procedures to meet legal and company requirements. Ensure compliance with the Company's Health & Safety, Food Safety, GMP, and hygiene policies at all times. Drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Conduct risk assessments and ensure SSOW, Lotto, and RAMS processes are regularly reviewed. Investigate and report on accidents, near misses, and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Chair monthly Health & Safety meetings and facilitate the site's H&S Committee. Provide Health & Safety advice, guidance, and training to staff at all levels. Support the site's environmental plan in collaboration with the Environmental Manager. Manage the safety observation program and ensure robust reporting and analysis. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, including the HSE, NHS, and Fire & Rescue Services. Oversee first aid provision, fire control systems, and crisis management initiatives. Participate in cross-audit processes within the group, including UK and international travel. Maintain compliance with all HR, Health & Safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Skills and Experience Required:
Essential: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within an FMCG manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing. NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Diploma preferred). Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with a Lean mindset. Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire and engage teams. Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement solutions. Self-motivated and capable of driving cultural change in a matrix-structured, international business. Desirable: Experience in managing site safety systems, including CCTV, access control, and fire safety systems. Familiarity with crisis management, food defence, and insurance compliance.
