The RoleWe are looking for a Health and Wellbeing Practitioner who has robust experience of supporting people who have a wide range of physical and/or mental health conditions. This person will have the ability to engage with both the participant and the Work and Health Coaches and provide guidance on the best course of action to support a return to employment. The Occupational Health Practitioner will have to support the more complex cases directly using their experience and knowledge.
Main Duties and Responsibilities• To provide physical or mental health advice and guidance to participants empowering them to achieve and retain sustainable employment opportunities that align with their goals• To work alongside frontline staff identifying specific health barriers and provide advice and guidance to help participants address these barriers into work• Work closely with Work and Health Coaches to identify participants that may need additional health and wellbeing support to progress them forward into employment• To support Work and Health Coaches with the wellbeing needs of their participants and seek additional resources where required• Develop training where needs are identified to upskill frontline staff around their participants mental and physical health conditions to support their continual professional development and help support the progression of their participants into employment• Proactively contribute to the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to advise on the best course of action for more complex cases that come into the programme. This MDT will ensure that anyone who comes onto programme has the appropriate level of support they need, whether in house on Work Well or as a referral to more intense support such as IPSPC• To promote and support the safeguarding of participants and guidance to frontline staff on the escalation process• Give support and guidance on how to maintain the wellbeing of participants when re-entering into work/ In-work support to maintain sustainment in the workplace• Produce accurate and timely reports on activity and performance as and when required• Participate in training, learning and development as identified through regular reviews with line manager• In person training and in person support will be part of this role and will require travel across your allocated region.
Qualification and Experience
• Relevant experience in particular discipline• Proven experience of supporting those with health conditions back to work rehabilitation/occupation health• Relevant health and wellbeing experience• An understanding of cognitive behavioural techniques, principles, and experience of applying in working practice• Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds• Compliance with relevant professional practice standards and registration • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Good at building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders• Ability to use initiative when required and take a problem-solving approach to work tasks• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required
