Auckland Medical Group are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Health Care Assistant to join our busy nursing team. Initially for 3/4 days per week. We are looking for a HCA with a caring attitude, with the ability to multi-task and work as an integral part of the team. Excellent communication and telephone skills are essential along with IT knowledge. Flexibility is imperative due to the nature of the role. Main duties of the job

The main duties will include: Blood pressure, ECG, pulse rate and rhythm, venepuncture, height and weight, basic wound care dressings, new patient checks, flu vaccinations, diabetic foot checks, chaperone, assisting with minor surgery, 24-hour ECG and BP. Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Ordering of stock. Ensure fridge temperatures are checked and logged each day. Any other duties thought capable of the postholder. About us

Auckland Medical Group is a busy teaching practice with 15,800 patients based over 3 sites. We have 6 partners, 4 salaried GPs, 5 nurse practitioners, 7 practice nurses, 3 health care assistants, 2 nursing associates, and a good team of admin and receptionists. CQC Good. System 1. To assist the GPs and practice nurse team in the service and delivery of the care management of the practice population. Responsible to: Senior practice nurses, practice manager, and ultimately, the GP Partners. 24 hours over 3 days. Person Specification

Experience

Fully trained in phlebotomy. Experience of working as a HCA in a nursing team. Experience of working in a GP Practice. Qualifications

Qualified in phlebotomy. Qualified to NVQ level 3. Experience within a health care setting. Good team working. Ability to work under own initiative. Ability to provide quality care. Good organisational skills. An understanding and acceptance of the need for strict confidentiality. Able to work under pressure and remain calm. Experience in a GP Practice. Knowledge of System 1. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
