We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our CAMHS Crisis & Unscheduled Care Service within Conwy & Denbighshire (Centre area of BCUHB). You will be part of a dynamic team who deliver assessment, follow up and short-term interventions for Children and Young People who are experiencing Mental Health crisis, involving their families and other support networks, as well as providing consultation and training for our key stakeholders. The Crisis & Unscheduled Care Service is in the process of development and expansion both within our service offer and operational hours, including late evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Clinical work will take place in a variety of settings including the local Emergency Department, Children's Ward, and other community settings. If successful you will contribute to the ongoing development and innovation within our service and be supported with personal and professional development through regular supervision and Performance Appraisal and Development Review (PADR). Main duties of the job

As part of the Children's, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), the post holder will provide care and support to children, young people and their families/carers who come to the attention of CAMHS Unscheduled Care as a result of their mental health needs. The work will involve elements of assessment, support and care for those who present with increased risk to themselves or others, and may require a higher level of observation, such as 1:1 if they are in the hospital environment, and provide community based short-term therapeutic interventions/programmes of care for children and Young People, following guidance and support from senior team members. Qualifications and/or Knowledge

NVQ level 3 in Health & Social care related subjects or equivalent qualifications/experience Good general standard of education All Wales HCSW induction framework Good knowledge of anatomy & physiology Experience

Previous experience of working with children with mental health needs in a hospital, community or educational setting Experience of working as a HCSW without direct supervision in a clinical setting and being managed by a qualified practitioner. Good understanding of risk assessment and management and safety planning Evidence of work based training and study days e.g. Manual Handling, Infection Control, Basic life support NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent qualification Skills

Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required Can work to a high standard of care under indirect supervision Ability to prioritise own workload Ability to travel across BCU bases The ability to communicate clearly and accurately. The ability to be adaptable to new and changing circumstances. Understanding of health and social care Understanding of risk management and Health and Safety issues Evidence of being able to provide wound care using aseptic technique Basic observations Vital signs recording (BP pulse, temp, respirations, blood sugar) Routine ECG recording Urine testing Any other specific clinical skills at this level of practice pertaining to role as per service need Knowledge and understanding of clinic activities Personal Qualities
