Job Summary Working alongside the Nursing and Clinical Teams, the HCA will provide treatment, preventative care and health promotion to patients. This will include assisting with clinical duties, communicating with patients, relatives and carers and members of the wider multi-disciplinary management team. Main Duties The HCA will perform tasks prescribed and delegated by the clinical team, working to agreed protocols and within defined competencies. The main duties include but are not limited to: Phlebotomy Care Planning Blood pressure recordings Urinalysis Capillary blood glucose testing BMI Pulse recording Supporting Clinicians Assisting with clinical duties such as Coils, Smears and recalls. This is a busy and fulfilling job and requires a flexible mindset, a welcoming and empathetic team spirit and a ‘can-do’ attitude. Operating over two surgeries on the outskirts of Newbury, within 15 minutes’ drive of each other, this rewarding position will be based over both sites. Our ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate that they have the required skills for the role. While experience in a GP Surgery is desirable, training will be given to the right persons. All new staff follow a comprehensive Induction program and shadow experienced staff during their first couple of weeks. We encourage professional development and learning, the majority of which is undertaken online through e-Learning. A minimum of 22.5 hours available, with some extra evenings and Saturday mornings assisting the GPs/Nurses with coil fittings. Various shifts will be available at Kintbury Surgery AND Woolton Hill Surgery, with hours negotiable.
