Main Duties of the Job Provide reassurance and support to patients and carers/family. Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated and records maintained. Report any concerns regarding patient care. Be able to locate all policies relating to good working practice within the clinical area and adhere to them. Ensure appropriate information is available on the ward for patients and visitors in relation to health promotion. The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff, and health service businesses in accordance with Trust Confidentiality Policy and the Data Protection Act.

Person Specification Education / Qualification
Educated to GCSE/GCE O Level (or equivalent) in English and Maths or demonstrate experience in a similar role.
NVQ 2 in Healthcare.
Skills / Abilities
Good written and spoken English.
Ability to profile and answer questions.
Experience
Experience working in a caring capacity, hospital, or other settings.
Acute NHS Hospital experience as a HCA.
Knowledge
Basic elements of personal care.
Experience of monitoring vital signs (temperature, BP).
