You must be available to work ALL required shifts over 7 days including earlies, lates, and nights due to service demands. The post-holder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. Support qualified Nursing Staff in maintaining high standards of nursing care to patients. Assist in providing an environment within the ward that is conducive to patient recovery and pleasant for patients and their families. Accept responsibility for specifically delegated functions within the ward appropriate for untrained staff. Ensure entries in nursing documentation are correct, legible, comprehensive, and countersigned by a registered nurse. Understand and adhere to all Trust Policies. Ensure the Health and Safety of patients, relatives, and other staff is maintained. About us

Work as part of the Nursing Team undertaking household support tasks and direct care tasks as delegated by the Nurse in Charge. Support qualified Nursing Staff in maintaining high standards of nursing care to patients. Assist in providing an environment within the ward that is conducive to patient recovery and pleasant for patients and their families. Accept responsibility for specifically delegated functions within the ward appropriate for untrained staff. Ensure entries in nursing documentation are correct, legible, comprehensive, and countersigned by a registered nurse. Understand and adhere to all Trust Policies. Ensure the Health and Safety of patients, relatives, and other staff is maintained. CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that privacy and dignity of patients is paramount. Ensure that all patient information is confidential and not disclosed to a third party without permission from the Nurse in Charge. Report any untoward incidents/occurrences. Deliver patient care with the highest degree of professionalism. Present an appearance that gives a positive image of the Trust. Attend fire and lifting and handling lectures annually and ensure appropriate updates are attended once H.C.A. training is complete. Participate in an annual performance review with the Ward Manager to identify personal development needs. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure patient records are kept up to date and accurate, and recording is done in line with Trust policies and procedures. Person Specification

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Health Care Support, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience. Care Certificate, or willingness to work towards upon appointment. Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role. Knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults procedures. Experience within a care setting. Skills

Ability to manage time and priorities effectively. Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative when necessary. Other
