Roles and Responsibilities: Provide reassurance and support to patients and carers/family. Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated and records maintained. Report any concern regarding patient care. Be able to locate all policies relating to good working practice within the clinical area and adhere to them. At the direction of the registered nurse, participate fully in the delivery of planned nursing care. Serve drinks and meals to patients and assist those requiring help. Assist in bed making and the disposal of soiled linen. Chaperone patients as necessary. Undertake the recording of temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry, also fluid input and output, and report findings to the nurse in charge of patient care. Collect and test specimens as required and report abnormalities. Ensure safekeeping of patient’s property and valuables within Trust guidelines. Work collaboratively with others in the ward to ensure that patient’s needs are met. Be aware of your competence and acknowledge your own boundaries, asking for assistance as required. Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. Person specification
Knowledge and Skills
Able to communicate both in written and oral. Experience in care setting. NVQ certificate. Previous experience working in the NHS. Previous experience as HCA. Communication

Able to demonstrate experience in teamwork. Work as a member of a wider MDT.
